Listing your requirements is completely free of charge. There’s no “listing fee” required to gain access to the transporters and negotiate the shipping cost with them.
You will not see any fees until you’ve fully configured your entire shipment and selected your driver. Once ready to get your stuff on the road, you will be prompted to pay the fee allocated to your payment amount.
If you’re interested, you can see how we apply the sliding scale fee below, but all fees will be calculated for you automatically when you click "Book Driver", based on the driver’s bid amount. At that time, we will also present your fee rate so you can know exactly how much you’ve saved.
Here’s how we calculate the fees based on the amount of the driver’s bid:
For the first $500 of the driver's bid, $93.47 is added to the total as CitizenShipper's fee (15.75% of the adjusted sum).
For the next $500 of the driver's bid (between $501 and $1,000), $79.75 is added to the total as CitizenShipper's fee (13.76% of the adjusted sum).
For the next $1,000 of the driver's bid (between $1,001 and $2,000), $132 is added to the total as CitizenShipper's fee (11.66% of the adjusted sum).
For the next $3,000 of the driver's bid (between $2,001 and $5,000), $231 is added to the total as CitizenShipper's fee (7.15% of the adjusted sum).
For any portion of the driver's bid that goes above $5,000, no additional fee is added (0.0%)
For example, let’s say you’re transporting a boat and you accept a quote of $1,600 from a driver. The fee due to CitizenShipper would be:
- $93.47 for the first $500 of the bid
- plus $79.75 for the second $500 of the bid
- plus $79.20 for the final $600 of the bid
So in total, you would be due $1,600 to the driver and $252.42 to CitizenShipper. That means our fee would be 13.63% of the total amount paid.
